3rd Annual “Swing For Your Cause Charity Golf Outing”

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for our Miedema Asset Management Group 3rd Annual Charity Golf Outing at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Belmont, MI on June 8.

Each summer we host a 9 hole golf outing where we raise $10,000 throughout the day, and all proceeds are donated to local charities. This is a day to sit back relax and enjoy 9 holes of golf with fellow colleagues while raising money for charities.

At the end of the day we were able to raise $10,000 for 4 charities including: Kids Food Basket, Mel Trotter Ministries, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and Wounded Warriors Project.

Detroit Continues to Raise Money by Selling Surplus Vehicles to Public One Day Online Auction!

In continuation with the City of Detroit, Orbitbid.com alongside Hilco Industrial will host an Online Auction selling Vehicles and Equipment from the City of Detroit. This particular auction is the 5th auction for the City of Detroit to help sell surplus assets that the City of Detroit is no longer utilizing

This one day online auction will take place on Tuesday, May 17th via Orbitbid.com. Featured within this auction will include approximately 75 (2001-2013) automobiles including Ford Crown Victoria, Taurus, Focus, Chevy Cobalt, plus much more; Will also include various lots of auto parts, miscellaneous supplies, and more!

Winning Cash for Life Ticket is…SOLD

Thursday, January 7th our sister company Repocast.com auctioned off a winning Cash for Life Ticket, however there was one minor detail, the winning bidder was only able to collect the winnings from the ticket for the duration of the original winners life. As closing time approached bids started rolling in and soon the bidding was extended by 20 minutes and finally the winning ticket was sold. After 12 hours of open bid time, the final bid was $40,026 to a man from Greenville, Michigan. After everything was all said and done this was one of the most interesting and news worthy auctions that Repocast.com has ever held!

We love having the chance to auction off cool items like this! It’s part of what makes our job so much fun! We have seen a wide variety of items come through our doors. For example, a complete Cinderella carriage, all of the seats from the Joe Louis arena, a helicopter, a gun that once belonged to Al Capone, and more! A lottery winner’s big future will be lost now that he has filed for bankruptcy. On behalf of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Thursday, January 7th  our sister company, Repocast.com will be auctioning off the rights to receive lottery payments (Cash for Life), $1000 a month for life as long as the debtor lives. The question that has come up many many times is “will I receive the payments for the rest of MY life?”, and the answer to that is no. The winning bidder on this auction will receive the $1,000 monthly payments for the rest of the original winners life. “This is one of the most unusual auctions out of the thousands we have conducted and this is sure to peak many people’s interest” says Scott Miedema, COO of Miedema Asset Management Group. “The interesting aspect of this auction is the man’s age, 73, and the other unknown details as to his health and life” Miedema states. – Miedema Asset Management Group held our 3rd “Swing for your Cause” golf outing at Greystone Golf & Country Club. We successfully donated $10,000.00 to Make a Wish, Habitat for Humanity, Old News Boys, and American Cancer Society. Great day with great people!

Auction of Pontiac Department of Public Works equipment nets $1.5 million

PONTIAC — The city might have just become eligible for a savings account: Tuesday’s auction of Department of Public Works equipment brought in an estimated $1.5 million.
The auction drew bidders from all over the nation, and 600 people were bidding online at one point Tuesday, said City Finance Director John Naglick. Read More
